Thoughts:
I love the man that can smile in trouble,
that can gather strength from distress
and grow brave by reflection.

Smile...
Things that made me smile today:
1-seeing Jayden wake up in bed with black paint still under his eyes from baseball last night
2-white and pink blossoms on the trees
3-I saw two people yawning (at the same time) in my rear view mirror while taking their kids to school
4-again, in my rear view mirror, some guy taking a huge bite of his glazed dounut
5-this furry hand in the gutter downtown salt lake....turned out to be a ladies glove with brown fur on the wrist

Smile
Smile though your heart is aching;
Smile even though it's breaking.
When there are clouds in the sky, you'll get by.
If you smile through your fear and sorrow,
Smile and maybe tomorrow,
You'll see the sun come shining through for you.
Light up your face with gladness,
Hide every trace of sadness.
Although a tear may be ever so near,
That's the time you must keep on trying,
Smile, what's the use of crying?
You'll find that life is still worthwhile,
If you just smile.
That's the time you must keep on trying,
Smile, what's the use of crying?
You'll find that life is still worthwhileIf you just smile.

Thoughts:
The search for peace is one of the ultimate quests of the human soul. We all have highs and lows, but such times come and they usually always go. Kind neighbors assist. Beautiful sunshine brings encouragement. A good night’s sleep usually works wonders. But there are times in all of our lives when deep sorrow or suffering or fear or loneliness makes us cry out for the peace which only God Himself can bring. These are times of piercing spiritual hunger when even the dearest friends cannot fully come to our aid.
These beloved people seek the Lord and His word with particular urgency, often revealing their true emotions only when the scriptures are opened or when the hymns are sung or when the prayers are offered. Sometimes only then do the rest of us realize they feel near the end of their strength—they are tired in brain and body and heart, they wonder if they can get through another week or another day or sometimes just another hour. They are desperate for the Lord’s help and they know that in such times of extremity nothing else will do.

Thoughts:
Love is what makes two people
sit in the middle of a bench
when there's plenty of room at both ends.

All Worth It Moments:
Mckelsie, Jayden and I went over to Layne's house on Sunday morning to watch conference and have breakfast. Caitlyn wasn't there because she had gone with her friend to their cabin for the weekend. Mckelsie didn't realize that she wasn't going to be there until we were driving over there. Mckelsie got really upset and said if Caitlyn loved her she would've made sure she was home so Mckelsie could see her and hang out with her while we were there. She just wouldn't get over it and the more I explained that Caitlyn was gone all weekend and that her Dad didn't know exactly what time she'd be back, the more upset she was. Mckelsie: Well then, I'm going to say the "B" word if Caitlyn isn't going to be there. Mom: Now Mckelsie, that's not appropriate. That's a very bad word and that would not be nice at all if you called Caitlyn that. Mckelsie: Well I'm not calling her that. Mom: You shouldn't say that word at all. It's not a nice word. Mckelsie: Well then I'll say the "SH" word. Mom: Is it going to make you feel better to swear? Mckelsie: Yes. Mom: Ok, say it. Let's see if you feel better.... Mckelsie: (Looks at me is disbelief). Mom: Yep, say it. Let's see if you feel better. Mckelsie: Ssssshhhhhhhhh.........iiiiiii.......tt. (fairly quiet) Mom: Do you feel better? Mckelsie: Yes. Jayden: What?!? You feel better Mckelsie?! Mckelsie: Well no....

Pinewood Derby Madness
Pinewood Derby 2011
I asked Uncle Dan to help Jayden do his Pinewood Derby car this year. It was Jayden's first year and the Pinewood Derby races is a serious business in the Green family. I mean....serious. We only had a few days to get it completed but thankfully Uncle Dan was able to help.
Race: 3rd place
YEAH!!!
